Team Shetland thanks Malakoff

Members of Shetland Island Games Team have today presented Malakoff Limited with a framed team photo to thank the company for their support as Official Team Sponsor at this year’s NatWest International Island Games.
Team Shetland returned from the competition in Guernsey in July with a total of seven medals - three silvers and four bronzes in athletics, swimming and triathlon.
Medal winners swimmer Jasmin Smith, athlete Katie Dinwoodie and triathlete Wendy Hatrick today presented Jack Tulloch of Malakoff Limited with a framed Team Shetland photo at the company’s shop at North Ness.
This is the fifth consecutive Games that Malakoff Limited has been the Official Team Sponsor since first supporting the team in 2013.
Lesley Hutchison, Chair of Shetland Island Games Association said: “We’re very grateful to Malakoff Limited for their continued sponsorship which helped us to get us to Guernsey. After a gap of four years, this year’s Games was a fantastic experience for the whole Shetland team and we’re especially pleased for our medallists and those who achieved personal bests.”
The next Island Games will take place in Orkney, from 12-18 July 2025. Shetland Island Games Association has already begun initial planning and Shetland competitors are expected to take part in all thirteen sports on offer at ‘Orkney 2025’. More details at: https://www.orkney2025.com/sports
