Shooting - Clay Target
The profile of clay shooting in Shetland has increased significantly in the last few years since Shetland Clay Target Club constructed a new skeet and trap range in preparation for the 2005 Games, held in Shetland.
The Club now boasts several talented shooters who have represented Scotland on many occasions and who continue to win medals at the Games.
Shetland has always taken part in the clay shooting events and over the years, Shetland shooters have won several bronze and silver medals in both individual and team events.
The clay shooting events are a compulsory event within the overall shooting programme and normally include ISSF Skeet and ISSF Trap events, plus a Sporting competition, over the course of the Games week.
Clay target shooting is represented on the SIGA Committee by Pete Davies.
